Helping our community thrive
United Way for Greater Austin is focused on helping Greater Austin thrive well into the future, and we know that to do that we need to address the root causes of Greater Austin’s challenges.
To help the working poor overcome barriers to economic opportunity, our strategic programs focus on key areas where people struggle:
- Making sure children get off to the right start: Success By 6
- Getting kids successfully through middle school and on the way to graduate high school: Target Graduation
- Ensuring families have the financial knowledge and tools to become and remain stable: Financial Opportunity
- Providing access to services available to the community – especially healthcare: United Way Navigation Center
We target our work to key parts of the population we hope to impact: infants and toddlers, youth and families. These programs are research-based and results-oriented – we track data over time to measure results, make adjustments when needed and achieve the highest return-on-investment as possible. We are solving problems not for one person with one need, but creating solutions for a large community with large needs.
To create these solutions, we rely on a comprehensive network of businesses, nonprofit organizations, government entities and individual to help. We invest the power of capital and collaboration into shaping a community where all individuals can be successful.
