We asked UWATX employees to dress up as the person who inspires them to give back during our internal employee giving campaign kickoff this year.
Sue: “The Directors and Executive Directors of the early childhood programs with whom we partner. They work so hard to support children and families — and they do not get the recognition they deserve.”
Orsi: “I am inspired to give back because of my hard working coworkers. I am inspired by their passion to help others and their commitment to making Austin greater.”
Courtney: “Everyday before I went to school my dad always told me to “be a good person today.” Working in a job that allows me to do that everyday is beyond fulfilling.”
Leah: “My amazing team of talented individuals. Each and every one of them brings fresh energy, passion and expertise to tackle an area of need in our community.”
Laura: “Leah inspires me to be a philanthropist because of her example of generosity of spirit and her dedication to her work and her family. As a working mother, Leah is a model of work/life balance. She daily demonstrates a commitment to making life better for families in her community. Her energy, creativity, and leadership inspire me to give back.”
Nikki: “Vanessa is the Wizard of Oz of UWATX. Her job is internal facing (behind the curtain making the magic happen!) ensuring we have the systems, tools and processes to be successful. Boom!”
Vanessa: “Nikki’s passion and ability to bring people together and build relationships is a complete inspiration to us all!”
Katy and Felicia: “The volunteers who serve on our research team consistently bring new ideas, build relationships and conduct research that makes our work more effective. Meetings with them are always the brightest spots in our week.”
Molly: “Seeing how all my coworkers are so dedicated to making Austin a better, more equitable place to live inspires me to give back every day! I am blown away by their knowledge in their fields and tireless work ethics!”
Sarah: “As part of the Marketing team, I love having the chance to brag on all of the great and important work my coworkers are implementing and carrying out. They inspire me to be a philanthropist!”
Marti: “I give back for my kids’ futures!”
Kelsey: “My mom inspires me to give back! If it wasn’t for her I would never have the understanding have the courage to make an impact!”
Laura: “Always remember YOU are an inspiration to someone. Don’t you forget it!”
Amy: “The staff in the Navigation Center who help Central Texans get their needs met everyday. I love them!”
Keith: “Kevin Rogel inspires me to give back. Learning about his story and how he went from VPL student to gainfully employed HEB partner completely called me to action. I give because I can truly see a difference in the lives that United Way invests in and I want to do all I can to help!”
Chelsea: “Nichole inspires me! Nichole is a tireless champion for the preservation of human dignity. She’s poised, professional and incredibly resilient. She empowers me every day to be my best! She casts away every doubt and always reassures me that the work we are doing is worth the fight. Nichole has unquestionable character and I am a better person for being on her team. The work she does is far more reaching than just our UWATX family of employees. She’s changing society for the better by investing in all of us. Nichole makes Austin Greater!”
